The first night ride provided an evening encounter with a large python which was exiting the mangroves to spend the night in a tree next to the bike path.  Our first two riders rode over the snake's tail before realising their error....  the rest of us came to a very sudden stop and waited until Mr or Ms Snake had lithered across the bike path and into the tree.  It stretched from one side of the bike path to the other, with a fair bit hanging over each side ... in other works, quite a large snake!!  Happy to report it...

Infrastructure:Cycling infrastructure can be many things  -  a section of bikeway, showers in a workplace, dedicated cycle lanes/routes, signage on a bike path, bike racks at a cafe, bicycle bridges, bicycle lockers at a train station, bicycle safety zones at traffic lights, etc.   Sometimes it can even be a simple thing like a temporary safe detour around work on a designated cycle route.   These types of infrastructure will, generally, help to make cycling safer and more accessible.  Infrastructure doesn’t have to be “big picture” projects to be successful.  A sign of successful infrastructure is usually how many bicycle riders...

  Thank you to everyone who completed our Ride with Friends survey.  We have already incorporated a few of the suggestions into our February timetable - 2 night rides and a trip along the Petrie to Kippa Ring track.  When I finish analysing the information I will let you know how we will use these fantastic suggestions to improve our Ride with Friends program.
