Tour price is based on twin share accommodation.
Single rider supplement $625 - if you would like us to match you with a fellow rider for twin share accommodation, please advise at time of booking and we will put you in touch with other riders willing to share.
E-Bike optional upgrade ($400.00)
Deposit of $1000.00 per rider at time of booking.
Deposit and booking must be made before 1 May 2021
Remaining balance to be paid before 1 June 2021
If booked and paid for between 2 June and 1 August the price is $3,400.00
CANCELLATION & REFUNDS POLICY:
Notice of cancellation must be in writing directly to Cycle Away, with an email as an acceptable form of communication. The following cancellation conditions apply:
Cancellation 60 days plus prior to trip departure - loss of deposit
Cancellation 59 - 30 days prior to trip departure - 50% loss of the tour cost
Cancellation 29 - 15 days prior to trip departure - 75% loss of the tour cost
Cancellation within 14 days of the trip departure - 100% loss of the tour cost
No refund is available after departure of a tour has commenced.
Capped at: We need a minimum of 10 riders and will take up to 14 riders on the track. The ride will only proceed if minimum numbers obtained.

Today you catch a shuttle bus from Christchurch to beautiful Lake Tekapo.
Bike fit occurs at Twizel on the journey to Lake Tekapo. After lunch we head out for a ride around the lake (approximately 1hr) to get us ready for our cycling adventure over the next few days.

Day 2 – Lake Tekapo to Twizel - 55km
Your adventure on the Alps2Ocean track begins! Canals, salmon farms, Tekapo B power station and lovely flat riding. The views from Lake Pukaki to the Southern Alps is stunning.

Day 3 – Twizel to Lake Ohau - 38km
More flat riding beside Pukaki Canal and Lake Ohau for a fantastic day of cycling.

Day 4 – Lake Ohau to Omarama - 42km
Cycle to the highest point on the track when you leave Lake Ohau and then continue through some beautiful scenery to Omarama. The uphill provides some great opportunities for photo stops and a good reason to occasionally pause for a breather before cresting the summit. The ride down the other side is amazing fun.Overnight accommodation at Omarama.

Day 5 – Omarama to Otematata - 24km

Cycle from O to O ..... Omarama to Otematata .... oh what a beautiful day. A short day so more time to enjoy the scenery and stop and take photos.
Day 6 - Otematata to Kurow - 44km
Breakfast and dinner at Waitiaki Lodge (Kurow) provided.
Your odyssey continues as you cycle from Otematata to Kurow. Your morning endeavour involves cycling uphill to the top of Benmore Dam - the remainder of the day is spent cycling mostly downhill beside lovely still lakes. We ride beside Lake Aviemore and Lake Waitaki and then over the Waitaki Dam. This is McCaw country - the home of a very famous All Black so lots of fun things about rubgy to see.
Day 7 - Kurow to Duntroon - 40km
What goes up, must come down as you meander from Kurow to rural Duntroon, where you will overnight on your second last night on the track. Early morning winery visit and then we follow the Waitaki River. We have some fun on river crossings where we're sure you will get your feet wet and have a laugh at your newfound MTB skills.

Day 8 - Duntroon to Oamaru -50km
On your last day you will cycle from Duntroon to the finish point at Oamaru. This day has it all. Big uphills, long flats, rail tunnel, rail trail and historic buildings along the way. We finish at the harbour after riding through the Botanic Gardens and the famous historical precinct of town.
Well done! You have just ridden through some of the most beautiful scenery in New Zealand.Overnight in Oamaru.

Day 9 - Bus shuttle to Christchurch
Spend the morning exploring the delights of downtown Oamaru before catching the shuttle bus to Christchurch at 3pm.
We leave you at your hotel in Christchurch at approximately 7pm.
