An adventure awaits you! Join us as we cycle a hidden gem on Brisbane's doorstep - the Brisbane Valley Rail Trail from Yarraman to Wulkuraka, the longest rail trail in Australia.
You will be shuttled to Yarraman from Wulkuraka train station and will then ride back down the valley over 4 days. It's all off road with the occasional creek crossing and hill to negotiate. We will pass through small towns along the route, breathe in fresh country air and have a yarn or two with the locals.
We must remember to close any gates we open along the way, the local farmers need to keep their stock under control.
You will need a set of panniers for your small amount of luggage (no vehicle support or luggage transport) and a mountain bike for the trail.
Tour price - $600.00
$400.00 deposit - required by Sunday 11th August 2019. Tour price is based on twin share accommodation.

Day 1 - (Saturday 7/9) Yarraman to Moore - 48km
After arriving at Wulkuraka train station (either by train or car) we will catch a shuttle bus to Yarraman where we will begin our journey down the valley. The ride will finish at Moore, passing through Blackbutt, Benarkin and Linville along the way. We will spend the night in a lovely B & B.
Accommodation in Moore - shared facilities.
Day 2 - (Sunday 8/9) Moore to Esk - 49km
Today we head to Toogoolawah then Esk. We will have some steep descents/ascents through creek beds where railway bridges have been removed or are unusable. The trail has a mixture of surfaces and is undulating. Esk is the major regional centre in the area and has plenty of facilities.
Breakfast in Moore
Accommodation in Esk.
Day 3 - (Monday 9/9) Esk to Fernvale - 45km
A good sleep and we will be ready to continue our ride down the valley to Fernvale. Breakfast will be in a local eatery in Esk before we hit the trail and see what adventure awaits us. Between Esk and Lowood we will cross the new Lockyer Creek Bridge which was opened in 2019 - a much easier way to cross the creek! The trail section between Lowood and Fernvale is a very pleasant ride and a nice finish to our third day of cycling.
Accommodation in Fernvale.
Day 4 - (Tuesday 10/9) Fernvale to Wulkuraka - 20km
Our penultimate day will be a short hop to Wulkuraka before we head home. The trail passes through some railway cuttings as we cycle along - you have our permission to go "woo woo" as you cycle through here. Just pretend you are Puffing Billy! As we get closer to Wulkuraka a nice concrete bike path will return us back to the station from whence we started.
