The ride begins at Toondah Harbour, Stradbroke Island Ferry Terminal and we return to the same point at the end of the day. This will be a guided ride. The adventure starts on the vehicle barge to Stradbroke Island - keep an eye out for sea life during the barge ride.
We arrive at Dunwich after a 45 minute trip across beautiful Moreton Bay and commence our journey across the island. We take the main road out of Dunwich towards Point Lookout. REMEMBER - this is the main road on the island so can get busy with traffic from barge arrivals and departures. The road takes us past Myora Springs and the Amity Point turn-off.
When we reach the other side of the island we pass Adder Rock, Home Beach, Cylinder Beach, Cylinder Headland and, after a small uphill, the famous Stradbroke Island Hotel. A few kilometres further on is Point Lookout township and the Gorge Walk. We lock our bikes and follow the Gorge Walk, for a different perspective on the island. If you're lucky you might see dolphins or turtles in the beautiful clear waters of the Gorge. After completing the walk we'll pause for lunch and drink in fantastic views of the ocean before turning our wheels back to Dunwich.
